Thiomargarita magnifica sounds more like a pretentious cocktail for the Summer of 2022. Please answer below with your proposed recipe! Suggestion: egg yolk will have the sulfur to deserve the thio prefix. nytimes.com/2022/06/23/sci…

Help us spread the word about this initiative and find those who can endorse our Manifesto to support early-career researchers in Europe. Otherwise we may really face a lost generation of scientists!

Very important ground work by Miguel Marques Universität Halle (inaktiv) and Susi Lehtola in The Journal of Chemical Physics. Many recent exchange correlation functionals have crappy numerical convergence, even for fixed point atomic calculations. We have been warned! aip.scitation.org/doi/abs/10.106…

First phonons out (I would like to see more to me sure). Based on these phonons the crystal structure seems not stable to me, especially in context of the synthesis conditions. I would be extremely cautious about any predictions based on this crystal structure.

Importing the mode-coupling theory from liquids to crystals enabled us to construct an exact, fully anharmonic theory of lattice dynamics, which works for both classical and quantum systems aippub.org/3vk3hmJ

After R&D funding cuts in 2023, seems the new NL government also needs reminding of why their economy is doing so well. It's the XXIst century - funding scientific research is a no-brainer. This letter from heads of industry drives the point home (again) news.pressmailings.com/hollandhightec…
