EU Director Martin Johnson has signed a Book of Condolence for His Holiness Pope Francis today on behalf of @ScotGov, at the Apostolic Nunciature in Brussels.



“On this 80th anniversary, Scotland pays tribute to our second world war generation.” As people across the country mark #VEDay80, First Minister John Swinney honours the courage and sacrifice of all those who served during the liberation of Europe.

Scotland is a proud European nation. Ahead of #EuropeDay, Shona Robison MSP (Dundee City East Constituency) met with European Consul Generals in Edinburgh to reaffirm our commitment to working closely with European partners.

Acting Minister for Climate Action Alasdair Allan is in Norway this week to promote Scotland’s offshore wind sector. At #FloatingWindDays, he met with Norway’s Climate & Environment Minister Andreas Bjelland Eriksen to discuss closer collaboration on renewables.

.@ScotGov Chief Economist Gary Gillespie visited Brussels today for engagements focused on our economic links with the EU and the Wellbeing Economy. Gary co-chaired a Wellbeing Economy roundtable w/@WalesinEurope and met with senior European Commission counterparts & CEPS ThinkTank.


Yesterday evening, we hosted our 2025 Summer Reception in Scotland House Brussels. Focusing this year on responsible tourism in partnership with VisitScotland, the event showcased the history and innovative practices of eight sustainable tourist attractions across Scotland.

Climate Action Secretary Gillian Martin visited Brussels this week to chair the annual @climategroup #Under2Coalition European Ministerial meeting. She met with members to discuss the role of nations and regions in shaping international progress on climate action.
