basically the point here is that if youd like to model your gender embodiment on characters like Him that is totally cool but also dont toss out the people in particular the women that characters like this are historical caricatures of in yr politics 👍

in terms of embodiment which, while not bad by any means, often tossed out how the deprived state of these communities was due to the misogyny and gender oppression they faced

but this kind of thing was historically built on a hypersurveillance of the transfeminized person and the use and symbology of their body as something deeply anomalous and wrong. at the same time it became a kind of aspiration for a kind of queer political desire by others

i guess the reason i want to mention this is because for the past ~20 years in media its often the figure of the effeminate or trans womanized being that is considered a 'pinnacle of queerness' in the eyes of a cisnormative society

not trying to turn this into discourse i rlly dont care if you want to model Gender after characters like this feel free but keep the roots in mind so you can build better politics for today : )

fine to like characters like Him ofc, but context is something to keep in mind. the villain-making was often made in the manner of how stereotypes of the effeminate or transfeminized body was considered particularly 'wrong' at a time where trans women were sitcom punchlines
