In this paper we report on 20 retrospective and 50 prospective intraoperative patient samples, providing a classification within 2 hours of sample receipt and a full molecular classification within 24 hours using the unique real time features of Oxford Nanopore sequencing.

There's a buzz around Multi-pass, Single-Molecule Nanopore Reading of Long Protein Strands, a recent nature publication from Jeff Nivala, Keisuke Motone / 元根 啓佑, Daphne Kontogiorgos-Heintz and colleagues. Watch this publication highlight where they discuss their work! youtube.com/watch?v=aaE7kZ…

In the last few months at Oxford Nanopore, we've made major strides in improving the accuracy of native DNA sequencing in bacteria, a challenging task due to bacterial DNA modifications. Watch my colleague Katherine Lawrence dive into the details: youtube.com/watch?v=rRFREd…

Breakthroughs take a lot of dedication and hard work. It's a huge privilege to have some of these recognised. Congrats to the amazing Oxford Nanopore team who build our technology and to our fantastic customers who bring the to life! nature.com/articles/s4159…

How to call SNV in RNA seq from Oxford Nanopore or PacBio? Easy: Clair-3RNA biorxiv.org/content/10.110… ! ~95% and ~96% F1-score for ONT / PacBio + we detect RNA editing! Great collaboration with Ruibang Laurent Luo Sine zheng Miten Jain BCM HGSC Thanks to Genome in a Bottle!

SPECIAL ISSUE! This month Genome Research publishes a diverse collection of research and review articles in a special issue highlighting advances in long-read sequencing applications in biology and medicine. tinyurl.com/Genome-Res-34-….

Exciting news! The latest hifiasm release from Haoyu Cheng and Heng Li adds beta support for Oxford Nanopore simplex R10 reads. Initial results look very promising. 🚀 Check it out: github.com/chhylp123/hifi…"

Our review on targeted long-read sequencing is part of the latest Special Issue from Genome Research ! If you have wanted to leverage long-read platforms for targeted applications but didn't know where to start, this review is for you! Full text: genome.cshlp.org/content/34/11/…

And native barcoding for Oxford Nanopore direct RNA sequencing has arrived ahead of Oxford Nanopore Events. Very impressive first runs Genome Technology Lab with >25 million reads (pre-basecalling) per flow cell. Analyzed data forthcoming!

‘Why choose long reads versus short reads?’ Miten Jain (Associate Professor, Northeastern U.) poses this question in the latest edition of the Sequencing Buyer’s Guide. Hear what the experts had to say, download now: hubs.la/Q03m3D530

From the fantastic Matt Loose

A warm welcome to Miten Jain (Assistant Professor, Bioengineering & Physics, Northeastern U.) who will be joining a roundtable discussion on the future of genomic #sequencing at The Festival of Genomics & Biodata in Boston. More info: hubs.la/Q03kCn140 #FOGBoston
