If a writer asks you for a rate that's much higher than your budget, perhaps that's a sign to tell your bosses that your pay is too low, not scold freelancers. When we ask for better pay, it's so that we can cover our healthcare, liability insurance, & other business expenses.

Pitch tip of the day: Gimme those bulleted lists!! I get SO many emails — large chunks of text slow me down and my eyes yearn to skim it. I love when pitches get to the point with quick bullets of what you'd plan to touch on and any other key info (ex : possible sources).
