We are learning our 2, 5 and 10 times tables in year 1 and we are using our washing lines to helps us! Parish CE School

We are learning about the seasons and the weather in science. Today the children were able to use their maths knowledge as well to create a pictogram of daylight hours in each season. Each image shows two hours so this helped us practice our 2 times tables too! Parish CE School

Today, the children started learning how to measure objects with a ruler, they worked together to measure and record their findings, well done year 1! Parish CE School

After exploring the seasons and the weather in science, today year 1 learned about weather forecasts. The children had the chance to act as weather presenters to give their own forecasts for the different countries of the UK, they had lots of fun! Parish CE School

Year 1 are really impressing me with their hard work in maths this week! We are exploring multiplication and equal groups to help us with our 2, 5 and 10 times tables, we have used counters to help us Parish CE School

In Parish University tonight, year 5 took part in a volcano quiz and then they drew and labelled their own volcanoes ready to make their own erupting volcanoes next week! #parishpride #geography Parish CE School

Parish University- geography session 2. This week, year 5 created their own volcanoes, then they joined forces with year 4 and Mr Atherton who explored the chemical reactions needed to create an eruption! Lots of fun was had by all! 🌋 Parish CE School

What animals live in water? Today, we explored the features that help fish to live in water. The children enjoyed looking at real fish to identify these features and then labelled their own diagrams Parish CE School

Fractions - We have been sharing and grouping objects into halves and quarters in maths today, great work, Year 1 ☺️ Parish CE School

What a fantastic Pot of Gold experience for year 1! We have had the most amazing day seeing the animals and visiting our class charity! We even got to see the meerkats which was exciting as we are adopting one with our fundraising efforts!! Parish CE School

Year 1 had a great visit to the Parish church yesterday to learn more about baptism and to see what happens during one. The children really enjoyed watching Reverend Rachel demonstrate and even had a go themselves! ⛪️ 💛 Parish CE School #parishpride

Today we started to explore money in maths. We looked at the different colours and shapes of coins as well as ordering them in terms of their value. More fun to come tomorrow! Parish CE School

To consolidate their work with coins, the children took part in some role play. They purchased fruit and veg by identifying the correct prices and corresponding coins! Well done year 1! 💰🪙 Parish CE School
