I saw a great idea on TikTok, using the Headband game for phonics! In pairs, Partner A segments and blends a word while Partner B spells it using their phonics knowledge. They then check their spelling against the word on their head before swapping roles ☺️🔤✍️📖

Other enhanced provision activities this week include, a teacher role-play, inspired by the children’s interests last week 👩🏻‍🏫👨🏼‍🏫 and a Jack and the Beanstalk inspired enhancement to compose a beanstalk of 7 using cubes to ‘prove’ their thinking 🫘

This week, I introduced face pegs for the enhancement boards. Children stay in these areas for 15 minutes to enjoy focused, independent choosing time. Once the time is up, they can move on to free-flow choosing. This approach has increased engagement, which is fantastic! ⭐️
