Celebrating National Pizza day in the playdough area this week 🍕🧑🏼‍🍳

We’ve had such a lovely last day of term celebrating Valentine’s Day, focusing on kindness 🥰 We made a special card for our grown ups, baked and decorated biscuits for our friends and had a wonderful discussion all about how we can be kind 🍪👨🏼‍🍳🫶🏽

Became the donut fairy this morning to spread a little bit of LOVE 🧚🏾‍♀️🥰

The enhancements have already been a big hit today! The children have loved the phonics enhancement, they have been writing with the secret pens and revealing their spellings with the blue light torch ✍️🔦

Science week experiment 🧪🥼👩🏽‍🔬🧫

I’m so proud of the children’s independent writing this week! This enhancement has drawn so many children to this area, fostering a love for writing and creating an inspiring atmosphere ✍️💖

I saw a great idea on TikTok, using the Headband game for phonics! In pairs, Partner A segments and blends a word while Partner B spells it using their phonics knowledge. They then check their spelling against the word on their head before swapping roles ☺️🔤✍️📖

Other enhanced provision activities this week include, a teacher role-play, inspired by the children’s interests last week 👩🏻‍🏫👨🏼‍🏫 and a Jack and the Beanstalk inspired enhancement to compose a beanstalk of 7 using cubes to ‘prove’ their thinking 🫘

Such beautiful artwork created by the children in my class last term! What a beautiful display it has made 🩷 They carefully selected and mixed the correct colours for their own features 🖼️🎨🖌️

Using our artwork and linking to our enquiry question “How can we leave a legacy?” we designed and made our own t-shirts to wear to our authentic outcome enquiry showcase! Inspired by Martin Luther King, children wrote and read their speeches at the showing - such superstars! ⭐️

Blown away by the children’s speeches inspired by Martin Luther King - such wonderful independent ideas generated from our enquiry learning! These children are definitely going to leave a legacy! 🥹

Spring enhancements 🌻👩🏽‍🍳✍🏽

Great to welcome over 50 ECT1s at Flying High training centre today for their #ECF training, with a focus on relationships, assessment and questioning. Lots of chance for discussion, sharing & exploring together. Flying High Partnership Lisa Vann FCCT Hannah Moss Aimee Barton

This week, I introduced face pegs for the enhancement boards. Children stay in these areas for 15 minutes to enjoy focused, independent choosing time. Once the time is up, they can move on to free-flow choosing. This approach has increased engagement, which is fantastic! ⭐️
