P2 used their knowledge and skills about the weather, prediction and measurement and applied them in a new and challenging context by creating rain gauges. For once, we are happy about the rain this week so we can assess the progress of our experiment!

P2 were all engaged, working hard and having fun in numeracy today! They chose their favourite strategy that they had learned (arrays, repeated addition or equal grouping) and used it to help them with multiplication, showing their working using cheerios! Glasgow Counts

P2/1 and P2 have been learning to estimate and measure accurately. Some children asked if we could go outdoors to measure parts of our outdoor space which we enjoyed doing 🌳πŸͺ΅πŸ“

Primary 2 and 2/1 learned how to tie knots, use a hammer safely, insert tent pegs and transport materials in a wheelbarrow. The weather was very windy but that didn’t stop us. S even managed to create his own hammock to relax in after his shelter was built! Well done everyone πŸ‘πŸΌ

P2/1 and P2 worked together to create dens. Firstly, they identified materials necessary to ensure the shelters would keep them dry. Then they planned their designs before going outdoors to build them. Lots of problem solving, collaboration and resilience on show!

Primary 2 and 2/1 were very intrigued to find a pot of porridge in the open area. Who could have left it there? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈThe children came up with lots of adjectives to describe the porridge. Now to read The Magic Porridge Pot.

These Primary 2 children worked collaboratively to find a quarter of a quantity, using the bar model strategy. They could also confidently explain their working. Well done P2! Glasgow Counts

P5 had a great time in Victoria Park last week. On our walk there we identified different modes of transport and discussed the impact transport has on our planet. We also had a quick play in the park before we went back to school! St Paul's Primary School
