Despite the circles having the same area, Paris has 4.2 million more people within 10km of its city center than Dallas. Dallas has only 31 rail transit stations within this circle, while Paris alone has 250+. Our cities are not full.

The impressive result of revolutionary policy reform. Spend one thought now to imagine a bike centric life for yourself ….. in my mind, it sure beats the car-dominated one my city is built for #futurecities #liveability

Let's roll up the outdated urban carpet! More density delivers more amenity! It creates more vibrant communities and streets, it brings more services, it’s an efficient use of infrastructure.. and we can live healthier, walkable lifestyles. Sydney YIMBY abc.net.au/news/2024-05-0…

A great thread on what is possible, relevant and replicable even here in Australia if we set our sights higher than blunt density and height controls.

Great news. NSW sets high housing targets for local councils. Targets for Greater Sydney represent 2.7% annual growth in the stock – faster than projected demand and near previous construction peaks. So the housing shortage will decline at an ambitious but feasible pace. 1/6

Enough is enough! The annual Demographia study ranked Sydney the second most #unaffordable city to buy a home in the world – the 15th time in 16 years the Harbour City has been ranked in the global top 3. Say YIMBY! realestate.com.au/news/three-aus…

‘Must Maintain existing character’ is a backwards planning policy ! Would love to see it removed as Britain just has! We need progressive policy that provides for the housing needs of today and enables character of communities to evolve! #townplanning #policy

The ‘fake green fairytale’ was busted for me tonight by Prof Jem Bendell 🌍☸️ … but I’m ok with that…. In fact I believe looking at the cold hard truth will make a ‘kinder, fairer and gentler’ collapse all the more possible #ClimateCrisis #polycrisis #collapseandrenewal #liberation

The redevelopment of this site absolutely should be maximised for more Housing - it’s got a bus lane direct to the CBD, which is a 5 min trip! Affordable and market housing - we need all of it and a lot of it - as the research shows - both create overall affordability! Let’s go!

"Inclusionary zoning" is like making doctors and nurses pay for Medicare or making professors pay for extra university places. To get more of something, don't tax the people who provide it. 2/3
