Met with a nonprofit called The Covering today who work with women in difficult circumstances. They do amazing work. I’m going to provide #SuicidePrevention training for them. Check out their organization here: thecovering686.org

Had a wonderful time talking to some women from St. Peter Catholic Church about suicide prevention training and hearing about their efforts with a Columbus originated recovery program for women called “Open Door Women’s Recovery Alliance.” God is blessing their ministry.

Though men die by suicide three times more than women, women attempt suicide three times more than men. A startling statistic. If you need help get help.

When they say,

“I was living quietly until He shattered me”…. “My eyes are red with weeping (Job 16:12 & 16).”

Let them cry.

When they say,

“My hopes have disappeared. My heart’s desires are broken. (Job 17:11).”
Let them grieve.

Some days I forget it’s there and other days I look at it every hour. I’m so thankful I serve a God who redeems and restores.

I began to read “On Reading Well” by Karen Swallow Prior (Notorious KSP at The Priory) to be educated on how to learn from literature, I should have known there would be some 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I’ve had to pace myself through the “Courage” chapter. Also seems so appropriate for the time doesn’t it? “Okay now!”😂

Reminds me of “Sticks and Stones” by Kings Kaleidoscope:

“Did I pledge my allegiance
For the purpose of progress
To a priest or a prophet
Playing god in the process?
Was I chasing convenience
In a wave of disaster?
Where the captain's a captor
And I'm a puppet to pastor?”

The boy graduated 5th grade. So thankful for his life.

It isn't always obvious when people are struggling. That's why it's important to making checking in a part of your every day.

Here’s picture of suicide prevention training that happened Grace Fellowship. Grace welcomed me with open arms and is a church dedicated to ministering to people with mental health issues. I will go to any church and talk about this important topic.
