🔥🥵 The New Jersey shore and Delaware beaches are roasting this afternoon, even though the sea breeze has moved inland. Temperatures near 90-95° and heat index still near 100° as of 3:20 PM. Not much relief from the heat or humidity at the coast today. #NJwx #DEwx

This is not a forecast! This was what was starting to overspread the region exactly 30 years ago, during the predawn hours of Sunday morning, January 7, 1996. By the time it was over Monday afternoon, much of our region set new records for the largest snowstorm in modern times.

Cold enough for ya? Its rare to be below 10 at noon. This is on par, if not slightly worse, than the pre-Christmas 2022 cold snap, but that one had the (benefit?) of temps starting out nearly 50 degrees warmer. Wind chills are below -10. Stay inside if possible.

16 years ago today, the second (of three) big February 2010 winter storms was winding down. While its predecessor featured an extreme north-south gradient, this one was a bit more of an equal-opportunity storm.

Here's a *preliminary* summary of Meteorological Winter 2025-26. As everyone knows by now, cold and snowy, but also a bit on the dry side overall. For the I-95 corridor, it was generally the coldest and snowiest meteorological winter in over 10 years, in some cases much longer.

🌇 We were treated to a spectacular sunset this evening! We are also hearing the spring peepers for the first time this season in the wetlands behind our office. It seems as if spring has sprung!
