can we talk about self-sabotaging behaviors and how it is a constant battle to not run away from the good things in life because you’re trying to disconnect from the emotional and mental harm inflicted onto you from past relationships and childhood ?

i hate it when adults do the whole “it only gets worse from here!” thing. my life will be dream-like forever because i’ll make it. and my heart will never harden because i’ll do the work of keeping it soft. joy isn’t reserved to youth and you won’t convince me it is.
