My Kindy class has learned their first 4 phonemes this week and today I supported them to blend and read a handful of words. The pure joy and elation of the children when they realised they had just read a word was so beautiful! Those light bulb moments are the best 💡

Feeling so inspired after the Walker Learning ( Early Life Foundation ) study tour yesterday with Miss Dunstan at Oyster Bay PS. Beautiful learning environments and amazing child-centred, evidence-based pedagogy. Looking forward to growing it with Rosehill Kinders Rosehill PS

High-quality play-based learning is relational 🤝 The teacher needs to find the right moment to actively co-construct learning through meaningful interactions with the children, not passively observe or withdraw children from the play. There is power in play, when we do it well!

Behaviour management systems should not shame children for their behaviour, but support them to make positive choices to improve their social relationships and capacity to learn and engage. What is the long term impact on the child who is always down the bottom of the chart? 🤔

If we don't pay teachers what they deserve we won't attract the ones we need. Teachers and principals deserve #MoreThanThanks. @AGavrielatos morethanthanks.com.au
