Could not agree more. It was the best move of mine. Some of the best, most dedicated science teachers I've ever worked with at Blaise and we LOVE teaching and learning here (plus a great PD programme if I say so myself).

What teaching looks like every lesson every day at Blaise. A toolbox of means of participation techniques available for teachers to judiciously select to help students think hard about the right thing ✨️

I've never seen teachers so enabled, by professional learning, systems, curricular expectations and standards of behaviour that are so much better than when I started in the late 90s. Some ECTs better than anything from back then. Systems and structures enable.

Many say that centralised resources stop teachers from flexing their expertise, but our approach does the opposite, argues Matt Carnaby of Astrea Academy Trust tes.com/magazine/teach…

Inspired by today's Evidence Snacks from Peps, I thought I'd challenge 8B to our longest call and response ever. After rehearsing in pairs, students repeated the definition of diffusion, together, word perfect, using our whole school C&R routine. Proud! Blaise High School

Another example of the great things we're doing at Blaise. MCQs used to diagnose misconceptions and kick start a means of participation sequence. Students thinking hard about the right thing, every minute of every lesson. Leading PD at our school is such a pleasure & privilege 💚

This is SUCH a great clip showing how we use carefully planned and sequenced means of participation to get students thinking hard about the right thing. T&L at Blaise is flying 💚

Our new science homework plan, led by our fantastic HoD, is going to help year 11s so much in the lead up to their exams. Success breeds motivation!
