I am deeply saddened by the demise of former MP Ndhiwa Owigo Olang 'Gogni' who was a selfless leader. I remember him fondly for his campaign style of moving door to door talking personally to his constituents. The face of democracy when Kenya was still under single party system.

Reintroducing of caning in schools would take away the gains that have been achieved in the education sector. Counselling would help tackle the deeper emotions that students could be grappling with. Abolition of boarding schools however should take the consent of all stakeholders
