Last Friday, we hosted the event "From Tripoli to Berlin" that brought together human rights defenders from Libya, the civil fleet, ECCHR human rights lawyers and political actors to discuss possible political and practical interventions against the EU's hostile border regime.

Transfers of people rescued at sea to Albania have proven to be impractical, unlawful and costly. This inhumane experiment must end.

We remain firm in our belief that facilitating entry should not be criminalized and that people have the right to move freely. At the very least, the EU should not criminalize acts motivated by solidarity and the intent to uphold the dignity and rights of individuals. 5/6
