So honour to be engaged with Center for Circadian Biology
It’s been a great visit to UC San Diego Health & Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego New collaborations and opportunities to advance child health through AI, implementation science of mental health, and sleep medicine. Brain & Mind Centre Westmead Kids
Exciting chance to connect with peers and senior researchers! Looking forward to work together with Center for Circadian Biology and Benjamin Smarr Grateful for this opportunity! Sydney Uni Global Kathy Belov Prof Emma L Johnston AO FAA FTSE Ian Hickie
So grateful for receiving this ECR funding from Circadian Mental Health Network Thank you! Ian Hickie
Excellent talk from Jake Crouse on the relationship between circadian rhythm and mental health at the #RTBSYD Emiliana Tonini Circadian Mental Health Network
We found high rates of metabolic and inflammatory risk in youth with emerging mental disorders. Elevated fasting insulin and CRP were linked to poorer mental and physical health, emphasising the need for early intervention: cambridge.org/engage/coe/art… Ian Hickie Jake Crouse
Most viewed in the last 7 days from JAMA Psychiatry: Are inflammatory biomarkers associated with subsequent risk of psychiatric disorders? ja.ma/3AJSg0d
Excited to share my insights on metabolic and inflammatory dysfunction among young people with emerging mood disorders. It’s great to see others presenting in this area as well - connecting with fellow researchers is invaluable! Thanks Circadian Mental Health Network for travel support.
New publication‼️COVID-19 altered sleep in people with depression-shifted to short or long sleep. Short sleepers showed poorer pre-pandemic mental health and more insomnia. Long sleepers tended to be night owls. mentalhealth.bmj.com/content/27/1/e… Ian Hickie BMJ Mental Health
🌟Our new paper! Over time, higher baseline levels of HOMA2-IR and CRP predicted greater increases in young people with emerging mood disorders. Notably, HOMA2-IR showed stronger links to the “circadian-bipolar spectrum” illness subtype. Metabolic Mind Iain Campbell, Ph.D.
Our team are presenting across all 3 days at SMHR 2024! We’re highlighting our teams innovative & inclusive research in youth mental health technology and lived experience! Watch this space! Brain & Mind Centre Ian Hickie Sarah McKenna Haley LaMonica Carla Gorban Frank Iorfino
At #SMHR2024 Jake Crouse talked about a study involved clinicians, researchers, and bipolar disorder experts from 15 countries to identify the key chronobiological and chronotherapy knowledge clinicians need to optimise bipolar disorder management. Ian Hickie Brain & Mind Centre
Also presented longitudinal trajectories of metabolic and inflammatory markers in youth with emerging mood disorders bit.ly/3U4Z1k8 If you have data or perspective, submit it to bit.ly/4axRCQc Ian Hickie
Another exciting day for our clinical team at YMH&T Brain & Mind Centre on Day 2 of #SMHR2024, exploring mood disorders and #circadian rhythms! Ian Hickie SMHR
Excited to share our new paper on #neuroimmune processes in youth with neuropsychiatric symptoms! We propose criteria to guide #immunotherapy, focusing on personalised care and shared decision-making. Ian Hickie bit.ly/3ABLbz6
Such a talented (youth mental health and technology) team of young people to work with Brain & Mind Centre University of Sydney - always focused on the impact of their work, nationally and internationally!!!!
