Partha's first contribution to a discussion panel on connected pens when asked who would benefit from using them is 💯 ON POINT: "it is not up to us to decide. We should not pre-judge who will and will not use what technology". Yes yes yes! #dedoc #attd2023 Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥
We need to stop thinking of technology as something 'special' & make it more commonly used in diabetes—it allows patients & their healthcare professionals a "view into their lives". This is a privilege and it should not be used to judge people. Partha S Kar 🇮🇳🇬🇧🏏🎥 at Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes #ATTD2023
Super interesting results by Matthew Garza, another overlooked area: diabetes technology & stigma. People with T1D more often indicated that diabetes comes with stigma than those with T2D, and those using a pump and sensor experienced stigma relatively often #attd2023 #dedoc
Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes Listening to @MM640G talk on #CGM accuracy. Choice of CGM isn’t a choice if it Hasn’t been tested on T1D Hasn’t been subjected to glucose insulin challenges Hasn’t been tested in children #WeDeserveBetter #dedoc° #dedoc°voices NIdoc 🇺🇦🇺🇿🇺🇬🇳🇬🇱🇷🇮🇳 Health and Social Care Northern Ireland Public Health Agency
Super interesting presentation by Jothydev Kesavadev on Indian experiences with open-source APS. In India, commercial Closed Loop systems are barely available and way too expensive, even for the rich. DIYAPS truly is life-changing here 💙 #ATTD2023 #dedoc
It's the last day of #ATTD2023 today. This is what I will be taking away from the information overload. A longer post to follow on the blog. It's been brilliant being a #dedoc voice. Advanced Technologies & Treatments for Diabetes
