A horrific Russian attack on Ukraine has claimed many innocent lives and left hundreds wounded. This is an outrage. The international community must condemn this aggression in the strongest terms. This attack again underscores the urgent need to support Ukraine’s air defence.

The arrest warrant against Edmundo González is another worrisome escalation in Venezuela. We express solidarity with persecuted opposition members and continue calling for the release of political prisoners. The democratic will and rights of all Venezuelans must be respected.

Had a useful conversation today with Jeanine Hennis, United Nations Special Coordinator for #Lebanon. We spoke about the work of UNSCOL and the importance of de-escalating the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel along the Israeli-Lebanese border.
