The "standard" way to describe the outcomes of a hypothesis testing procedure in #STATS is to say we "reject H₀" or we "fail to reject H₀," which is quite a mouthful! This morning I found a better phrasing for the decisions: either we "reject H₀" or we "retain H₀."

Daniël Lakens Welcome to the Pythonland! Sure we don't have `dnorm` as a built-in function, but `norm.pdf` is there after a `from scipy.stats import norm`. If anyone is interested, I'm writing a Python tutorial for absolute beginners (no programming exp. required): nobsstats.com/tutorials/pyth…

I spend an exorbitant amount of time choosing the notation for each section to ensure consistency and precision. I used to think this was wasted time, but now I realize this effort is essential for the clarity of explanations... Cleanliness of notation is next to Godliness?

After seven years in the works, the No Bullshit Guide to Statistics eBook is finally done! See the announcement blog post here: minireference.com/blog/noBSstats… People say teaching both frequentist and Bayesian #statistics in parallel can't be done, but I say ¿Por qué no los dos?
