Mike Miles claims STAAR scores are up since #HISD takeover—but HoustonCVPE says he restricted access to rigorous courses, especially in Black & Latino communities. This isn’t progress—it’s data manipulation that deepens inequities & future opportunity. houstoncvpe.org/3_000_students…

This. I know this isn’t straightforward, and it isn’t easy. I was an active parent in my kids’ education, but I often needed the school to expect more.

If you have a child in public schools that is not in special education, if you are a first or second year teacher, or an employee that is not a teacher - HB2 CSB has ignored your existence for funding. Only experienced teachers & sped students win. ESAs passed, we can do better.

This is accurate, articulate and important information from a District Superintendent who truly understands what our public schools need. Thank you Bobby Ott. Please, contact your representative. #pastors4txkids

The House and Senate are locked in negotiations over the basic allotment, one of the components in CSHB 2. The best way to get an increase in the basic allotment is to push for the full $9.1 billion. To do that, we need you to take action and reach out to your legislators:

On May 17, 2025, Precinct 2 held their community meeting on Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare’s plan for a mid-cycle redistricting of the county. This is a selection of those pushing back against the maps, the lack of transparency, and yes, the racism inherent in them.

Another item hidden in the “big, beautiful bill” adopted by the U.S. House was $20 billion for private school vouchers. The money can be spent on private school tuition, homeschooling materials and for for-profit virtual learning. The bill is primarily subsidizing evangelicals

No words for how offensive this is. Candy Noble "did a quick Google" to "prove" her point. Wrong. Quick Hebrew lesson: the word translated "manservant" here comes from the root "eved," meaning servant/slave. Like, "We were slaves in Egypt." Yes, the Bible speaks of slavery.

"The push for vouchers is not just about redirecting money. It is about unraveling the shared commitment that has long defined who we are." Glenn Rogers names solid truths here. Vouchers hurt SPED, hurt rural ISDs, hurt low-income kids. This is not who we are. #pastors4txkids

Thank you, Congressman Marc Veasey, for standing with us and calling this redistricting proposal what it truly is: intentional racial discrimination. Let’s be clear, this is racial gerrymandering, plain and simple. The proposed maps aren’t about fair representation or reflecting

This “record” new funding is almost $10 Billion below what schools need to reach 2019 spending power and leaves Texas teachers below national average in pay. That’s what happens when you also set the “record” for the most years with no new money for schools, Governor.
