Kadam Lamrim is the great mirror of Dharma in which we can see the way things really are; and through which we can see what we should know, what we should abandon, what we should practice and what we should attain.

So this is our object off meditation. And this is what we focus our attention on. So let’s finish the class by setting this positive intention for the week ahead.

We begin our meditation by once again coming into our meditation room, noticing our body and its contact with the floor or the chair, and bringing our attention up into our body, to the nostrils. And then focusing on the inhalation and exhalation at the tip of the nostrils.

So we focus in meditation on a wish. This week… and beyond. I’m going to try to practice patience to the best of my ability.

This week, whatever I do, wherever I go, I’m gonna try to keep in my heart the beautiful, virtuous wish to practice patience. To be governed… to come under the influence of this virtuous mind.

And we dedicate good energy from our session so we can put this into practice in our daily life, and it can benefit everybody that we meet. Everyone that we encounter. Without forgetting our intention.

When we make this intention, to practice patience… we try to make it a meditation in our heart. I’m going to practice patience. And as we’re making this intention, ideally, we get a special feeling.

A virtuous feeling, like a feeling of happiness. Because this is a positive state of mind. And this is a powerful form of meditation, giving rise, directing our mind, directing our life, and giving rise to a feeling of happiness.
