The lengths people will go to in order to prove another Christian isn’t saved is disheartening. Only God knows your heart. If faith is genuine He knows. The thief on the cross was genuine.

He’s a great fitness personality and a good man.

How do I use fitness to glorify God and not myself? This is the hardest struggle for me. Fitness is good, but it’s not God. Placed above Him and it becomes a tyrannical demon. Lord help me.

Frustrating. In market based societies: 1. Billionaires created something so valuable that WE MADE THEM BILLIONAIRES. 2. Governments would use those resources in FAR WORSE WAYS. 3. Give anyone 100 million and they would fail to create 1 billion.

Once I started following Christ I stopped caring so much about politics. I still care and it still matters but not nearly as much as before. I simply realize who is in control and I know the end of the story. In the end Jesus wins.

The world lies. I knew this a decade into my fitness profession when I realized the world’s dietary, healthy and fitness advice was WAY OFF. In many cases OPPOSITE of the truth. It’s this way for everything important.

Realized that Jesus died for all my since INCLUDING future sins. Realizing how lost I am, how impossible being sinless is and sitting here in overwhelming gratitude. How can I judge others when He gives ME, a lost sinner grace??

Jesus said love your enemies. Pray for them. Following Christ does not look like self righteousness. It’s easy to feel prideful when looking at other peoples sin. Look up instead. He gives YOU grace and you don’t deserve it. No one does.

God doesn’t want you to be happy. He wants you to be holy. If happiness was the goal, the men who lived and walked with Jesus, His apostles, would not have been jailed, tortured and killed the way they were. Holiness is far above any other pursuit.

As I get older I’m realizing the best way to use strength training for the best combination of aesthetics, health, function and a low risk of injury is a bodybuilding style with a strong consideration for correctional exercise and mobility.

Hardest but best realization as a Christian is that I CANNOT do this without Christ.

Husbands are to “lay down their lives” for their wives the way Christ did for His church. The key here is YOUR HEART. Doing so with resentment or bitterness is not the same. Lay down your life and sacrifice yourself with a glad heart.

Fitness is great. It’s a valuable pursuit. But fitness is NOT god. Placing fitness too high on your list of values turns fitness into a tyrannical god who is hellbent on destroying you. This is the common struggle for those of us “fitness fanatics.”

Wives are to submit to their husbands the way the church is supposed to do with Christ. Again, heart posture is everything. Submitting with resentment or bitterness is not the same. Doing so with a glad heart is what He asks.

Btw waiting for the other person to act first is a losing game. That being said, husbands are called to lead and husbands are ultimately responsible for their families, so fellas, if your wife is not submitting in a Godly way, LEAD HER & pray for help.

And wives, you have been given the godly role of STRENGTHER. You have been given the power to EMPOWER your husband. Emasculating him, nagging him or criticizing him does not strengthen him. Also, this will NOT come naturally. Pray for help.

One of the most powerful prayers: “Lord I don’t want to do what I know you want me to do. I do what I want to do. Lord I need help. Please change my heart. Lord please have mercy on me as I knowingly turn from you. Lord forgive me and strengthen me.”

If men stopped judging women by the standards they judge men with and if women stopped judging men by the standards they judge women with a lot of conflict would be avoided.

God doesn’t want you to be “happy.” He wants you to be HOLY. Becoming more holy leads to a happiness that defies human understanding. The apostles walked with Christ. All led lives that were filled with pain & struggle. All holy & happy.
