Sounds cheesy, but most days I feel proud of what I’ve achieved. Taking a step back to see how much I’ve achieved reminds me of the effort and dedication that’s gone into Mind Marvels.

I think I need to improve on actually taking a break and slowing down, which I know I can achieve with better time management. Time management is definitely a hard skill to master—even though it sounds easy enough. Do you have a skill you’d like to improve this year?

My favourite way to unwind is to talk through any business issues with my partner, Steven. It’s always good to get someone else’s perspective on things. Netflix is the other way—there’s nothing like a good binge on a TV show to chill out.

It’s really refreshing to see how friendly and helpful everyone is in this industry—people just want to help. Yes, we’re all business owners, but it’s not quite like The Apprentice paints it to be. People genuinely want to give advice, collaborate, and cheer each other on.

It’s rewarding to see the true difference this work makes to children, franchisees, and staff. The best part is that I get to see it every day in different ways. Whether it’s a kind email, a thoughtful text, or a glowing review about the impact of one of our sessions. Positive u

At school, I had a huge fear of maths, and my primary school teacher berated me for it—which honestly still makes me nervous about numbers. But I persevered! For someone who shied away from dealing with numbers, I went on to become a teacher and later started my own business.

Snowboarding! It feels amazing being on top of a mountain looking down. For me, it’s important to have something active outside of work, and snowboarding is the best of all worlds—it’s fun, it’s outdoors, and the views are incredible.

A hugely challenging time for our business was during COVID, when we adapted by delivering online sessions instead of in-person ones. I don’t think anyone could have anticipated how much that would change all of our lives in so many ways.
