Two of our technically best players Norton cuffy and de norre languish on the bench...our great young hope esse barely used in recent months..an injury list so long that it feels it has to be more than bad luck..and that includes a £2m striker...so much has gone wrong this season
There is a gruesome symmetry to the way we have managed to so spectacularly implode at the end of this and last season....last year it cost us a play off space....this year it looks like we're heading back to league 1.....utterly abject surrenders on both occasions
What an utter shambles of a season this has been......biggest gates since the early 50s..... 4 years of top 10 finishes and yet we have managed to monumentally muck it all up
This summer has always been shaping up to be a massive one in terms of the long term strategic direction of the club...I'm not sure the difference a single massively disappointing afternoon in South Yorkshire makes to that bigger picture..unless we of course ending up going down
'At least we've got rotherham on Monday'.....I said to my brother in law as we walked away from the ground on Saturday....'but you do know what's going to happen don't you......' was his reply ....
I would have taken a point before the game all day long....as it was we took control and dominated the match and missed some great chances.....only to concede a soft penalty...overall a very good performance ...our organisation was superb and nullified a technically superior WBA
Completely agree and so pleased millwall fans refuse to buy into the rip off racket that are replica shirts....altho let's be honest....its more because we're stylish old gits who wouldn't be seen dead in a replica shirt 😀😃
Here’s part two of the updated and rewritten history of Millwall including tales of Bill Voisey, Jack Cock, Dave Mangnall, Harry Cripps and Keith Weller
Cracking afternoon despite the result..watched the game with my 87yr old mate..said next month will be his 75th year anniversary as a lions fan...puts it all in perspective...did say his head was occasionally turned by jazz & cycling in the 50s...but always a lion..brilliant :-)
Unlike I'm sure many others on here I actually quite like klopp....but ffs let's stop treating this next couple of momths as some sort of personal psycho drama in we are somehow involved.....I couldn't give 2 hoots about his end of season as I'm sure he also feels about millwall
So what have we learned today? 1. Harris continues to galvanise a squad that is short of confidence really well 2. We have some classy players and we need to being them into play more...especially De Norre 3. Confidence is desperately fragile & we need to be all about survival
Personally think the players can hold their heads up high after this performance.....a clearly better Leeds team have deservedly beaten us but we had our chances and we fought every step of the way
