Congratulations to Sam, Jenni, and Asa for their amazing performance in the Scarlet Band at the The Ohio State University School of Music High School Honor Jazz Band Weekend! Proud of these terrific young musicians and how they represented Gahanna-Jefferson and Gahanna Lincoln HS Bands!

A true honor to have Major Nowlin, Associate Director of Marine Band, with us today. He talked to students about his piece "Through the Valley" and answered questions from Gahanna Lincoln HS and PNHS Bands students. An amazing and inspirational musician and servant leader!

Our GLHS band students had an exciting morning with a visit from Major Ryan Nowlin, Assoc Director of "The President's Own" Marine Band. Major Nowlin shared his piece "Through the Valley" and engaged in a Q&A session. Thanks to the LHS music department for this opportunity!

I saw some Gahanna grads doing Script Ohio on ice with the Ohio State Athletic band tonight at the Ohio State men's hockey game! Eli Orkis, Josh Ford, Finn O'Connor, Ray Ryzenga; maybe more. Way cool! Gahanna Lincoln HS, Greg Miller, Jessica Williams, Eli_Orkis, and Tracey R. Deagle, PhD.

Enjoyed having Mr. Lindroth in Blue Band rehearsal today to share about Irish music and the bodhrán, as we prepare Michael Sweeney's "Passages" for the December 17 Holiday Band Concert!

🎼 🎵 🎶 Congratulations to senior clarinetist Asa Mattson who performed with the OMEA All-State Band at the Columbus Convention Center. Asa was chosen as one of 90 top band students from across the state to be in this competitive honor band in the state of Ohio.

GLHS jazz students were treated to a master clinic taught by guest artists Chris Ott (trombone) & Dan White (saxophone). These OSU graduates founded the jazz band THE HUNTERTONES & helped our students prepare for their annual All-District Jazz Festival Concert last week.
