Wheaton sunsets don't disappoint!!

Today, Montgomery Parks unveiled a tribute to the 300 year old Linden Oak, a former champion tree in one of our parks. Chainsaw artist “Carving Collin” transformed a huge branch of the tree into a beautiful bench adorned with an eastern buffalo, acorn, and oak leaves.

Another week, another Wheaton sunset!

I gather the Parks Department once again came up with a new creative idea that the community loved.

This Fish Fry was most delicious!

While on my bike ride today, I did an unsanctioned Montgomery Parks inspection of the Purple Line over Rock Creek Park & Trail. The abutment I zoom in on is for the Capital Crescent Trail bridge which hopefully will be set soon. The steel girders are for the trains.

Beach Drive is now closed between Franklin Ave and Cedar Ln, and between Kensington Parkway and Connecticut Ave.

****Road Closure Update**** Beach Drive is now closed from the DC line to East West Highway and Kensington Pkwy to Knowles Ave. Sligo Creek Pkwy is Closed from Piney Branch Rd to Flower Ave.

This is great news and great work! Thank you John McCarthy & the State's Attorney's Office for getting a dangerous criminal off the street. And thanks for the continued great work of the Maryland National Capital Park Police keeping our parks and community safe.
