Must-read for psych measurement. The authors examined overlap of the items from several depression scales and the implications for the detection of significant effects of treatment. Bottom line: the selection of the measure has consequences on the validity of our inferences.

This is one of the many reasons why I attended the free SEM workshop by CenterStat again this year. Sure, I'm familiar with most of its content, but I didn't want to miss this. How do you explain this pic to those who weren't there? Can learning psychometrics be any more fun?!

So excited to receive the quantitudethepodcast award! I would like to dedicate this achievement to thousands of researchers (myself included) who at some point thought that dichotomizing a continuous variable was a good idea. This wouldn't have been possible (literally) without you! ❤

Here's the link to download my #APA2022 poster: osf.io/gf684. We examined three types of bias associated with automated writing scores and writing assessment. Results illustrate the adverse implications for students from historically marginalized groups.

Happy last day at #APA2022! Check out my poster on the conference website or download it from here: osf.io/gf684. You'll learn about racial and ethnic bias of automated writing scores and writing assessments. Looking forward to chatting with you about this!

**Attention social scientists** The search warrant the FBI has conducted reminds us not to keep negative results of research studies in the safe of our "beautiful home." Leave them in the bottom drawer of your file cabinet on campus. They are much safer there.

On behalf of all quantitudethepodcast listeners, I want to thank Greg & Patrick for the fun meme contests held this summer. Yet, we need season 4 ASAP before the pod is replaced by its evil twin from an alternate dimension... Qualitude, a podcast dedicated to all things qualitative! 😱

I was so excited for quantitudethepodcast season 4, but I didn't expect to be featured in EP1. I'm humbled to receive the Gran Prize Award & share the stage with Patrick's leg. Thanks to Gus who dropped his moose stuffy on my meme and made this possible. Cheers to a new year together!

Thrilled to see this finally out! We showed that writing assessment format (multi-choice vs essay) rather than scoring approach (automated vs hand-scored) contributes to unfair decisions against historically minoritized students. Looking forward to checking out the whole issue!
