This week’s #MinuteWithMike - a budget update for my constituents. My priority is that we get a good agreement that protects education and healthcare while allowing us to come with compromises on the other challenges we face.

It was a was great day in #ThroggsNeck today as we celebrated the opening day of the Throggs Neck Little League and celebrate the Throggs Neck Community Association’s Easter Eggstravaganza!

It is absolutely essential to the continued functioning of this state that we #FixTier6 . New York needs skilled workers in our public agencies and they must be paid and compensated appropriately for us to maintain them.

This weekend we came together in the Bronx to call for the passage of #SMOKEOUTAct in the state budget. The budget is due in 4 days. New Yorkers across all boroughs want to close down illegal smoke shops immediately. Let’s get it done in the budget. It’s time to smoke ‘em out.

I was definitely feeling the “Sprit of the Irish” yesterday at the #BronxStPatricksDay parade! The crowds turned out and it was wonderful to catch up with so many constituents.

My colleagues & I are working hard to negate the 8.1% carrying charge to Coop City shareholders. Coop City is a beacon to our entire country of how successful affordable housing can be when it’s properly funded. These charges undercut that effort & I urge NYS HCR to reconsider.

Co-op City is a model of affordable + cooperative housing, the largest NORC and home to 50,000 Bronxites. I, along with my colleagues, wrote to NYS HCR opposing the 8.1% carrying charge increase, recognizing its potential disastrous impact on residents. bit.ly/3Td3lwr
