He grew up in the Dadaab refugee camps.
A yearning to serve his community drew him back.
He’s opened three libraries and supported learning opportunities for thousands of displaced children and youth.
Now, Abdullahi Mire👨💻 is the 2023 #NansenAward Global Laureate.
Wishing a happy #EidAlFitr to those celebrating around the world, including millions of refugees who are forced to celebrate yet another Eid away from home. Let us hope the year ahead brings peace and prosperity to those who are suffering.
Love his confidence & hope some day he gets to play for a major league football team in front of millions of fans! #Sportsday
