Tweet of the Week In Bid to Disrupt PI, #LegalTech Co. Pivots, to Compete with the Very Firms It Has Long Served Bob Ambrogi lawnext.com/2022/06/in-bid… Mighty launches law firm in 3 states to share tech savings with PI clients, enforce a code of conduct - More lines blur

2/ -PI lawyers I was friendly with before our launch hurling baseless accusations at me behind my back and to my face -Lawyers who say they’re not in cahoots with the doctors, then threatening those doctors to withhold referrals unless they stop using our Mighty's software

Will Hornsby Claudia Johnson Bob Ambrogi Natalie Anne Knowlton Also, no 30% vs 33% isn't much alone. But Mighty Law lawyers also: 1) Give back 10% of the cost of medical treatments on lien, financing interest costs, case costs 3) Reduce their fees further as size of case goes up 4) Tons more can be found here: bit.ly/3yNV1tO

In one word, how would you describe the typical billboard lawyer's alter ego? We’ll go first – Shark. 🦈 #PersonalInjury #Mighty

1/ Morgan & Morgan’s ad campaign “Our fee is free unless we win your case!” that uses ads that liken their legal fees to free samples, free delivery, & other “free” things, is one of the most cunning in #personalinjury and they should take it down 🧵 ispot.tv/ad/bgxB/morgan…

Personal injury firms spend fortune in acquisition costs for clients they only see once, this only makes sense if they're making a lot of money off of clients w/ strong cases & providing terrible, opaque service to everyone else: interested to see how transparent competitor does.

2/A way to create better incentives is for PI LFs to have their fee be based on the net settlement, like Mighty Law does. We finally found a law firm,The Heslin Law Firm, who does just that: charges clients’ contingency fees based on the net settlement amt & not the gross settlement amt.

Mighty succeeding must also mean that the general population understands gross vs. net. In #personalinjury there's a big difference between gross settlement (i.e. the # on billboards) and net settlement (i.e. the # client's get.) I explain in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=cqMw-h…

In 2009, the Institute for Highway Safety staged a head on crash between a 2009 Chevy Malibu and a 1959 Bel Air. The same crash that would have instantly killed someone in 1959 causes a few light injuries today.

Why are personal injury attorneys the marginal bidder for roadside billboards in so many parts of the US? Is the sector really so large? A priori, I would never have predicted this. Quick investigation: "Costs and compensation paid in the U.S. tort system reached over $529
