I have direct, personal experience with how H-1Bs work in the real world. I was "in the room where it happened." We were told we could not hire American unless we showed that we could not use an H-1B. Much of people tell you about H-1Bs is a lie.

Reminder: the purpose of the vast majority of H1-B workers in the country is nothing more than to replace American citizens in their jobs with someone who will work for less and is all but forced to be more compliant with employer demands.

USA doesn’t have infinite resources to house and feed and care for the entire world. No amount of wishful thinking will change this. If you want to be charitable, keep USA strong so we can help the world when a real crisis arises.
