Now that I’m no longer a commercial producer under any NDAs I can say this. Black Influencers…..When brands ask for your rates, go sky fucking high. Seeing the variance in rates from Black talent vs non Black talent broke my heart.

This is a photo from yesterday's closing ceremony of Sunny Bunny, Ukraine's first LGBTQIA+ film festival. If Russia had taken Kyiv in 3 days, this wouldn't have happened. Anything queer would have been banned by this point (if not worse). Please remember that.

Last summer, I stepped away from filmmaking to focus on writing. After a number of shorts and docs, I decided to write a feature film script. I wrote every day before work between 5am-8am. The first draft was 203 pages. Today, I’ve locked the final script at 130 pages.

Imagine if filmmaking wasn’t centered around “making your money back”.
