First time reading a book that has a character named Elaine!!! Thank you Vicki Delany 📚🇨🇦 for making my day by naming one of your characters in Elementary, She Read, Elaine, I'm not even upset that she was murdered!!! Today I met Vicki and got my copy of the book signed!!!

I just got the cutest Christmas decoration from Costco.ca. Rudolph is/was my favourite holiday movie when I was growing up. So cute that Rudolph's nose lights up!!!!

Since I am alone for Christmas (no family), I decided to choose and wrap 12 books from my growing TBR pile to put under my tree. This way I will have a "surprise" Blind Date With A Book to unwrap each month next year. Wrapping the books was not as easy as it looks on Instagram.

I had no idea how many people would comment and like my post about my "blind date with a book" that I did for Christmas from my TBR list. I am overwhelmed with emotion. I am just a retired book nerd, but you have all made me feel so special. Thank you all.

I have been seeing a lot of posts about women getting buzz cuts and I have been so tempted to try it. I have always had short hair but not that short. Well today I went short, like REALLY short - but I left my bangs longer. I think dying it purple helps hide how short it is.

Thank you all for your positive comments about my hair, you have really given this introvert a confidence boost. I have had a tough year with various illness & grieving the loss of my Mom. November is my month to try new things and to step outside my comfort zone. This is #1.

My super short purple hair is making it's first outing in public today. I'm excited to be attending the Burlington Public Library's (Burlington Public Library ) Literary Event today with author Joy Fielding. Looking forward to hearing her speak about her writing career.

Had so much fun this afternoon at the Burlington Public Library (Burlington Public Library ) with author Joy Fielding & moderator, Alicia Cox Thomson. Facinating to hear how Joy goes about writing her books. She read from her new novel, Jenny Cooper Has A Secret and it sounds funny & great.

I still can't believe that I met chef, Lidia Bastianich tonight at Fortinos Mall Road location. She was so nice!!! I wish my Mom was still alive to have been able to meet her cooking idol. Mom, I told Lidia all about you and how you idolized her.

What is your favourite book and why? I have 2 - To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is the book that started my love of reading and A Time To Kill by John Grisham. Both have the same topic - prejudice in the judicial system in the South. Something I never realized.
