Mother Nature paid the 26th annual Pioneer Sugar Bowl football game a visit tonight with about 5 minutes remaining in the third quarter and the USA Patriots leading the Reese Rockets 34-14. Due to lightning, the game will resume at 1 p.m. Saturday at Vito Tutera Field in Reese.

Congratulations to our team in Croswell for setting a new daily slicing record on Friday, Oct. 11. We sliced 5,592 tons of sugarbeets that day, breaking the previous record of 5,475 tons set in 2018.

It hasn’t been easy and there remains work to be done, but as of today, Michigan Sugar Company’s grower-owners have about 81% of this year’s crop harvested. Please pray for favorable conditions so we can quickly bring in the remaining sugarbeets.
