Very interesting presentation by Dr Jacques Kerr on unscheduled care in COPD. Aim to reduce ED attendances, hospital admissions and inpatient length of stay #SRNF2018

A virtual Dr Tom Fardon discussed the National Repiratory Improvement Plan. He identified that services are mismatched across Scotland and there are definitely areas for improvement #SRNF2018

Day 2 at the SRNF conference. Prof Hilary Pinnock presented on diagnosis of Asthma and COPD overlap. Is a diagnosis a help or a hinderance? #SRNF2018

Great to see so much interest in how using a simple CBT approach has so much potential to help our breathless and anxious patients .

Nurses like to refer to chest auscultation, cannulation etc as advanced skills...but organising a safe discharge home for a frail older person with multiple co-morbidities THATS an advanced skill

Heslop-Marshall et al should be applauded for conducting this large study, and particularly for demonstrating that briefly trained nurses can supervise and implement effective, and almost certainly cost-effective, one-to-one CBT for patients with COPD.

.Nicholas Soames I look forward to going back to Scotland and my beautiful constituency of Skye, every single minute I'm at Westminster. But if the attitudes on display today continue, I don't think you'll have to worry about Scottish MPs for too much longer.

This approach will help address the huge gap in psychological care with our patients with chronic respiratory conditions. The results are simply brilliant. Great to see the recognition.

Just sheer brilliance from Brian Cox with his Christmas message. Happy Christmas to one and all. When the festivities are done, Scotland has a way out this madness.
