If you want to see the power of authentic, place-based businesses, look no further than Oakland Roots. In a world where we all feel that more and more people are against us, we've built powerful sensors to know when someone is for us. When people know you're for them,

Cities are supposed to be where you go to chase your dreams. But if you dream of solving housing, they’re often where ambition goes to die. The barriers are just too high. Making housing allowed has somehow become a bigger challenge than building it. It shouldn’t be this way.

This is huge news! CA urbanists and YIMBY's: Make sure to give the folks that made this happen a huge round of applause. When bills pass that we know to be common sense, we often respond with a very “it’s about time” type of tone. But if we want politicians to put forth more

Not a single building over 5-10 stories in the foreground here. Skyscrapers have their place. But can build remarkable, dense places without turning them into cavernous concrete jungles.

America is the land of opportunity. The beautiful thing about that is that opportunity exists in all circumstances. Even in a moment like now when things may feel dark or bleak, there’s opportunity to fight back. To rebuild. So much of the darkness in our country and our
