What a momentous day for these courageous individuals and their loved ones. I am so grateful to everyone who participated in such a complex and delicate process to secure their freedom. No one should suffer such undemocratic regime abuses.

Really grateful to our Gerard de Graaf team for all they do to promote EU values, tech, and digital policy on the West Coast. The tech space is sure to remain exciting as we head into 2025, and I’m glad we have them working for European Union in the U.S..

Honored to welcome to the EU Delegation Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Deborah Lipstadt to discuss how we can promote the Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism and to hear about her tireless efforts to fight these hateful acts. We are grateful for her work and coordination with us.

The world will miss Jimmy Carter’s big heart and life dedicated to public service at home and supporting democracy and human rights abroad. My condolences to the Carter family.

I am deeply saddened by the deliberate attack on those celebrating New Year's in New Orleans. There is no excuse for such violence. As authorities continue their investigation, we stand in full solidarity with the victims and their families during this tragic time.

Good call with Secretary Marco Rubio. We discussed global issues where the EU and US have the same interests, including Russia’s war in Ukraine, Iran’s malign influence and challenges posed by China. The EU and US are always stronger together. Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Today is my last day as Deputy Chief of Mission for European Union in the U.S.. After 5+ years in Washington, I return to Brussels with memories, achievements & new friends. The EU-US relationship is one of the deepest, most interconnected. It was a deep honor to play a role in this. Thank you.

Tomorrow will mark three years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. A day that will forever live in infamy. Today we’re hoisting the Ukrainian flag at our headquarters. It is flying high and proud at the heart of Europe. Where it belongs.
