You are an artist, too-  3- different dynamic than cheerleader or engineer/producer because you understand the creative process from inside instead of being strictly a music fan.

You are an artist, too-  4- may also be a songwriter or performer whose ability can bring a new dimension to projects you produce.

You are an artist, too-  6- you are not specifically someone who reproduces what you hear/see in front of you, but envisions something much greater (based on your ability to look deeply into any situation) and endeavors to create something that isn’t yet in existence.

Ideas often work themselves out- 1-when the dynamic is strong enough, the project takes on a life of its own and becomes self-sufficient this is the essence of the book, “The Third Mind”, when two people embark on any undertaking, the result is a third, unique consciousness.

Ideas often work themselves out- 2- when the project starts to behave autonomously, your best option is to be a good facilitator-interject where you know doing so is ideal and ethically correct, but let the process run itself by staying out of its way as much as you can.

Ideas often work themselves out- 3- you'll know this is happening when, like magic, things start falling into place and solutions to problems start appearing on their own. You’ll also start feeling like a conduit for information that's coming to you from someplace else.

Ideas often work themselves out- 4- in the meantime, if you are still adrift, stop racking your brains for ideas and solutions to problems.  Sometimes, “aha” moments come when you’re not expecting them.

Seek out co-workers and collaborators- 1- trying to get inexperienced people who are enthusiastic to rise to your level of expertise is always possible, but trying this exercise with inexperienced and incapable people is generally an exercise in futility.

Seek out co-workers and collaborators who can understand you or who operate on the same wavelength- 2- it’s great to have people who work for you for nothing, but in many cases, you’ll get what you pay for.

Seek out co-workers and collaborators- 3-use your instincts when bringing people on a project who you will have to depend on. Can they do the job they are taking on? Will they be able to do this job under extreme pressure? Will their ineptitude mess up your progress and others?

The events of this past year are reminders that art is the true gateway to uniting people. For the next three days, I’m supporting art creators by offering a free analysis of one of your songs.
