This week has been full of surprises, I’ve been teaching a full class load by myself since my CT has been out sick all week...in my plant science class my student Made flower 3D models to test their flower part knowledge which now sit on my desk, and a xylem and phloem cell lab!

Finished celebrating FFA week with a teacher lunch prepared by all the FFA members! #psuegedu22

fun lab in plant science! Students made their own insect mouth parts and tested them out by picking up different object. This simulates different insect pests mouths and how they eat plants so that you can use the right treatment to get rid them. #psuagedu22

Sometimes you need to take a nice day and find a reason to go outside! This week we were able to go out and plant pest hunt! Students were able to find some pretty cool pests including a deer scapula that lead into how mammals can be pests to plants aswell. #psuaged22

Why do we grind livestock feed? So that animals don’t pick out their favorite pieces! Student sorted mixed up cereal and picked out their favorite type, then smashed it into pieces and mixed it up and tried to sort it again. to show the importance of feed processing. #psuaged22

Ruminant dissection day! Finally we were able to get ahold of the whole digestive tract. #psuaged22

My animal science class completed a dissection of a pregnant pig uterus. I have to say this was awesome! How cute are these little fetal piggy’s! Yes there were larger ones as well that they got to dissect. #psuaged22

If you haven’t had a estrous party in class, your missing out! My students were struggling to understand the cycle but after our party they all got 100 on their quiz! It’s amazing to see how an activity can help them learn so much. Reach out if you want to know how I ran it!
