The situation in #Sudan is not so much forgotten as it is neglected. It's already the largest displacement crisis in the world, and could become the world’s largest hunger crisis. But it's not receiving the attention and support to avert a nightmare scenario.

The situation in #Sudan is nothing short of a tragedy. Because of the conflict and the lack of humanitarian access, it is extremely challenging to get to people who need our support. We need the eyes of the world on Sudan. More in my interview on Al Jazeera English.

WFP trucks have recently successfully crossed from Tine, Chad into #Darfur, #Sudan to deliver crucial food assistance. With the rainy season imminent, roads will soon be impassable. Our teams are racing against time to preposition vital food supplies.

A South Sudanese sister. A Sudanese brother. Both were living in Khartoum. Their lives were interrupted by the conflict. Both have been displaced several times. I met them today in Kosti. They want #peace; & more support to alleviate some of the many challenges they face.

In places like Kakuma, #Kenya, thousands of #refugees have lived here for years, having left their homes in search of a better life. We must do more to help them build a future. WFP is committed to working closely with UNHCR East, Horn of Africa and Great Lakes to support them towards self-reliance.

#Sudan is in the grip of an unprecedented hunger crisis. New data shows over 750,000 people are facing catastrophic food insecurity, with 25.6 million experiencing crisis levels of hunger. A #ceasefire and renewed international efforts are urgently needed.

#Sudan is confronting its worst hunger crisis in over 20 years. As conflict drives people to flee into neighbouring countries, the situation becomes increasingly dire. With access and funding, we could avert an outright famine.

After the #earthquake, ''my whole house burned down. I lost everything''. In #Myanmar, needs are immense for Daw Win and many others. She quickly received emergency food assistance for her family. Now, WFP is setting up strong logistics for an integrated emergency response.

🚨 As floodwaters rise in #Myanmar, WFP is delivering lifesaving aid. In Kayin State, we're distributing ready-to-eat fortified biscuits to those most affected ensuring immediate access to food & nutrition. We're also monitoring other high-risk areas, ready to scale up as needed.
