The situation in #Sudan is nothing short of a tragedy. Because of the conflict and the lack of humanitarian access, it is extremely challenging to get to people who need our support. We need the eyes of the world on Sudan. More in my interview on Al Jazeera English.

The ongoing conflict in #Sudan is leading to a catastrophe of unimaginable scale. Without a resolution, the long-term impacts on its people will be devastating. World Food Programme is deeply concerned about the future. I discussed the urgent humanitarian situation on CNN International 👇

In places like Kakuma, #Kenya, thousands of #refugees have lived here for years, having left their homes in search of a better life. We must do more to help them build a future. WFP is committed to working closely with UNHCR East, Horn of Africa and Great Lakes to support them towards self-reliance.

Before I leave, sharing how extraordinary the last 4 years in #EasternAfrica have been. Despite all the challenges, World Food Programme stayed and delivered. I'm deeply grateful to the team in the region for their unwavering dedication and commitment. Keep up the incredible work! Asante Sana!

UPDATE: WFP is on the ground! "We're distributing high-energy biscuits & scaling up fast," says Michael Dunford, WFP Country Director in #Myanmar. Watch his Al Jazeera English interview on WFP’s emergency response & urgent needs after the #MyanmarEarthquake. 🎧 Tune in now⤵️

🔴Following the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake in #Myanmar, WFP is on the ground, scaling up emergency food distributions and support amid ongoing humanitarian crises. We urgently need funding and access to enhance our impact. Hear from WFP's Michael Dunford 👇
