As Hurricane Francine nears landfall, make sure your preparations are complete now—don’t wait until the last minute. Staying safe depends on how ready we are and on our commitment to protecting ourselves and our loved ones. Also, avoid the roads as the storm hits, if possible.

To report flooding on highways or any roadway obstructions, like fallen trees, downed power lines, or debris, dial *47 (*HP) from your mobile device. However, it's best to avoid the roads altogether when Hurricane Francine arrives in Mississippi, if you can.

In the event of a power outage causing a traffic light to go out, motorists should treat the intersection as an all-way stop. Follow the same right-of-way rules as you would at a four-way stop.

First graders at Tylertown Primary learned about Troopers and Police Officers today, exploring the similarities and differences in their roles.

Highway 44, just east of McComb, is temporarily closed due to a single-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler. Motorist in the area are advised to take an alternate route.

Troop M underwent inspection today, conducted by Major Waller, Captain Blackwell, and Lieutenant Harrington. They examined the troopers’ vehicles, weapons, and equipment to ensure they maintain readiness to meet the needs of the citizens of this great state.
