Enjoyed a flying visit to Groningen earlier this week to meet with lovely new colleagues and buy a house! I'm delighted that in just a couple of months I'll get to call this wonderful city home.

Adventures in trying to leave Britain: council system requires new address, has drop-down menu of countries from which I can select THE NETHERLANDS, but still tells me this isn't a valid address b/c it doesn't have a UK postcode. Sigh. All places are belong to the UK, it seems!

Such a lovely send off yesterday with wonderful Cardiff colleagues- I will miss you all! Now on the train to London- farewell to Wales, for now.

So yesterday I was in a Cardiff pub celebrating the UK election, and tonight I'm beside Marseille old port & people are gathered cheering "Front Populaire" (the left wing alliance the surprise exit polls just now have defeating the fascists). Good things are happening, people!

Not long at all now until I start my new job in the Netherlands!
