This is such a brilliant essay that elegantly narrates a 100 year of history through air conditioning in Bahrain and the ways it reflects and exacerbates inequalities merip.org/2024/07/fossil…

All solidarity with friends and comrades in Jenin, Nablus, Tulcharem, and across the West Bank. Israeli forces are escalating their murder campaign against Palestinian civilians. International intervention, beyond words of condemnation, is needed now, more than ever.

I just had the pleasure of interviewing Marsha Henry for E-International Relations’s podcast Thinking Global with Kieran O’Meara. What a fascinating discussion on all things #peacekeeping, conflict & post-conflict, black #feminist thought, methods and #anthropology! #IR #AcademicChatter

The girl in the pink roller skates. The boy and his parakeet. The autistic boy who cried out, confused and scared. The mother crying over her son only to see her other’s son’s lifeless body arrive. The boy carrying around his sibling’s remains in plastic bags. A million stories.

Hillsborough. Stephen Lawrence. Windrush. The Post Office. And now Grenfell. The systematic programme of institutional injustice, dishonesty and incompetence meted out to a specific section of society continues.

3 Indigenous people killed by cops in 4 days and now Canadians are feeling emboldened to try run Indigenous protestors down and our “National leaders” are too busy trying to help the feds normalize genocide to say anything.

Really honoured to give the keynote talk at the Conflict Research Society annual conference - this year sponsored by @PeaceRep The conflict theme is fragmentation. Here's what I am going to say ... #CRS2024 conflictresearchsociety.org

72 people died because of greed, dishonesty & indifference. 7 years later, not 1 single person has been charged with causing their deaths. We cannot forget them.

Catch your students doing well and TELL THEM. Most students have never had a prof email them to 👏 their participation/class contributions. I try to do this 3x per class the first few classes. It pays dividends! Those students 3x eager next class, they lead & bring others along.
