'I think the most important thing is to put the power in the hands of the artist. I want to be in control of my likeness, my brand, my legacy.' FKA twigs on the need for AI deepfake & voice clone protections

'Will all companies have AIs on their Board & Exec teams in the coming years? '

Everyone who keeps saying 'AI learns just like humans', as a sort of counter-argument to artists, realize that the 'AI' is controlled, operated and profited from, by another entity, right?
It's not the 'AI' going out and doing art shows to pay rent. You get that, yeah?

Imagine taking your high school essays, putting them into Google Translate, then claiming you wrote 'War and Peace'.

I wouldn't even know where to start, because I'd have to teach you an entire language just so you could see what you made.

That's how GenAi feels sometimes.

Confirming my suspicion that when someone decides to release 'the first AI generated film' it will actually have a ton of VFX cleanup work

I feel like AI prospectors are inventing software to Gish Gallup themselves into believing bad science.

'We discovered a buncha new materials with AI!!'

'Nah, no way. Did you??'

'Well there's millions of them, so we must have!!'

Gen AI researcher at Amazon instructed to ignore copyright because ‘everyone else is doing it’.

Unfortunately this is very believable. A couple of companies decided gen AI training was ‘fair use’ in 2022, and everyone else followed, scared of falling behind.

After reviewing some of Midjourney's response to Andersen case, I feel more convinced that Adam Schiff 's AI Transparency bill is necessary.

AI co's will hide behind obscurity as long as they can. Meanwhile, we've all seen the MJ gen'd film stills

No. They didn't. And I really wish people would stop making this comparison.

Creators ingest material in order to learn, to take in elements and inspiration in order to produce their own organic melange of all that.

But for many reasons these are not the same thing.
