The Enfield Engineers baseball team was made up of MDWSC employees who moved to Enfield during the construction of the Quabbin Reservoir. Sadly, this and other nearby towns were unincorporated to make way for the new crucial water source. #history #baseball #openingday

#OTD On April 25, 1866, Boston began construction of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir to provide additional water storage for the city. Originally, it had two basins, which held a combined total of 731 million gallons, enough to supply the city with water for 40 days! #BostonHistory
