Working for an insurance, the horizon under #climatechange is undeniably negative. This trajectory will see our business collapse. - strong words from Steve Waygood of Aviva Investors. Victoria Cuming BloombergNEF #BNEFSummit

Just listened to #KesavarthiniySavarimuthu talk about the Pathway of Energy Transition. Insightful and interesting. One thing to remember is that there is more than one #pathway of the #EnergyTransition we can choose. It is down to us. Be open minded. #BNEFSummit BloombergNEF

On the gas price Spikes: Natalie Adomait of Brookfield Asset Management notes this isn’t the last time we’ll see volatility. Large industrial players are starting to realise there’s a benefit to having a fixed cost for energy. David Hostert #BNEFSummit

Hydrogen isn’t going to be a silver bullet for every application. Look at areas where hydrogen is already used (ammonia, etc) and places like steel and aluminium. Electrification may be better for lower temperature proceeded. BloombergNEF panel on H2. #BNEFSummit

Awesome thread as the U.K. heat strategy gets rolled out by Simon Evans

This week, BloombergNEF released our Circular Economy Company Rankings, scoring companies on how #circular they are today, and how ambitious they are to get better for the future. We looked at 20 brand owners, and 20 #plastics producers. The results:

Where are we in the hydrogen hype cycle?🐈 With new #netzero announcements, the need for #hydrogen is clear. But what is the exact role for hydrogen, and why aren't we seeing more FIDs? That was the subject of my talk at BloombergNEF's Summit in London. about.bnef.com/summit/london/…

Despite a decade of climate action, coal generation remains relatively robust. Coal generation increased in absolute terms since 2011, according to BloombergNEF's Power Transition Trends report. However, coal's overall share of generation fell to 35% in 2020 from 38% in 2011.

The #steel industry can reach near #netzero and abate 7% of global emissions, all while staying below current prices and increasing production by 50%. A bargain at $278 billion extra investment. 🧵on BloombergNEF’s latest research on steel’s path to decarbonization.

The Hydrogen team at @Bloombergnef led by the great Meredith Annex just published its 10 predictions for #Hydrogen in 2022, in the next posts are the titles, but for more details check-out this link: lnkd.in/dqir2Hbi

Hydrogen - the "magic" fuel. Great video breaking down the potential and challenges for #hydrogen, its potential for #netzero and where we need to see progress this decade. DW Deutsche Welle Malte Rohwer-Kahlmann youtube.com/watch?v=AGTjKJ…

Ukraine War Makes Green Hydrogen Competitive My latest for BloombergNEF. The economics may change, but more companies may view #greenhydrogen & ammonia as viable – especially as a way to reduce gas for social, sustainable and security-of-supply reasons. bnef.com/insights/28461

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has brought a wartime energy transition to Europe. How far and how fast can it go when economic and political constraints are suddenly loosened? The big take, with Will Mathis & John Ainger bloomberg.com/news/features/…

Honoured to be speaking on May 10th at the Sustainable Energy Council (SEC) World Hydrogen 2022 Summit in Rotterdam. I will be presenting highlights from BloombergNEF’s latest Hydrogen Market Outlook. #WorldHydrogen2022

Ethan Zindler and his team BloombergNEF have put together an awesome summary the Inflation Reduction Act. I hope he won't mind me pulling a few choice quotes out from behind the paywall w/ gifs ofc, but if you subscribe, this report is really worth the read bnef.com/insights/29453
