1970 #Dodge #Charger R/T; 440 cid, 3x2 bbl “Six-Pack”, 390 hp; 3-speed Torqueflite; 4.10 Sure-Grip Dana rear end. The same body as used in 1968/69 continued, with minor trim changes. R/T was the high performance member of the lineup, equipped with many heavy duty goodies.

1968 #Mercury #ParkLane #Convertible; 390 cid, 4 bbl, 315 hp; While #Marquis was senior to Park Lane it was offered only as a 2-dr Coupe priced at just $110 more. Park Lane had a full-length tire-level molding and chrome moldings around the wheelhouse. The dash was redesigned.

Jimmy Dean began his fateful racing career today in 1955 by winning his first formal motor race. Thus began a series of squabbles with Warner Brothers who barred him from racing during filming. He continued anyway and his death came Sept 30 while driving to yet another race
