DRS in its current iteration is simply unworkable. Ill-considered and ignores small businesses. It's exhausting. As someone with a drinks shop in Kirkintilloch, there's no support, if it goes ahead will bring us closer to not existing. Disgusted Lorna Slater Ross Greer
Dear @LornaSlater, as you know the new First Minister, has promised a 1-year grace period for SMEs, however we urge you to pause and revise the proposed DRS scheme with input from the 'real industry'. This will help ensure that the scheme works fairly for everyone.

Good morning Lorna Slater - have you seen the news this morning? Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda and Waitrose have all said DRS must be delayed. You’ve ignored 1000s of SMEs calling for a delay but you can’t ignore the supermarkets. Your DRS is untenable.
Basic rule of Deposit Return Schemes: Compare like with like. Baffling to claim that Scottish DRS will be a success because DRS works in other countries. The Scottish DRS is extremely complex and unlike any other DRS in the world. Stop making disingenuous claims Circularity Scotland.
Hi Lorna Slater, businesses need clarity and answers on your Deposit Return Scheme. Are SMEs excluded? Is it being delayed? As you’ve said yourself there has been ‘plenty of time to prepare’. So why don’t you have any answers? Let me remind you how things currently stand…🧵
Hi Lorna Slater - 5* out of 8 of the retail members of Circularity Scotland have said your DRS needs delayed / aligned with a UK-wide DRS. *(6 if you include Waitrose who aren’t members of CSL) When you come back from recess will you finally accept reality and halt DRS?
We agree with Scotch Whisky Association - vitally, the Scottish Government’s DRS does not contain a target for the remelt of the glass it collects. Remelting glass allows it to be made back into glass packaging – a key part of delivering closed loop recycling and a circular economy. 🧵1/
Astonished by Lorna Slater’s answers to @FergusEwingSNP & Murdo Fraser today. The 600m glass bottles in scope are not subject to a remelt target and even ZWS in 2017 said in a report that the recycling rate of glass bottles was between 70-90%. 🧵1/3
