It’s long overdue that those in power recognised how broken the SEND system is in both mainstream and specialist settings. Been deliberately ignored as there are no easy answers. Great that Bridget Phillipson is not ignoring it any more.

It is problematic framing resilience as a fixed personality trait that people have or do not have. Resilience is emergent. It is also context-dependent: we adapt to some contexts and not to others.

One child with undiagnosed and unsupported SEND can sometimes take up to two adults to manage. Adults who are often stretched to capacity and who the school can ill afford to release. The paperwork involved to try and obtain support takes weeks & often results in no extra money

After telling you about 16-19 year olds with SEND who’ve had transport cut by ⁦Bham City Council⁩ - now, 4 year olds too. Four year olds starting reception are classed as pre-schoolers, and aren’t eligible for transport until their 5th birthday bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
